Incline Friday

Midnight sent out the invite to join her on the incline today and it was the perfect way to end a stressful week. There are few ways that are as efficient for beating yourself up. I felt pretty good going up. I thought I was taking it slow, but it turns out that I beat my fastest incline time by about 4 minutes and was cruising on the way down. :)

Location: Manitou Incline
Time to top: 40:57
Round trip: 1:15:07

Damn, that's actually a pretty decent time. Though 39:59 is a helluva lot better. Please tell me that's your time to the very top and not the poser halfway bail out point?

Halfway point is for pussies! Get to the top, go up and over, then come down Barr Trail.

Actually, the real route goes all the way up to the summit of Rocky Mountain. But you're getting there.

Don't know that route, yet. :)

As you're going up and over, you'll see a singletrack trail veer off from the mail trail. Follow it up. You'll come to a fork, take a left (right goes over to Mt. Manitou). Keep going up. You'll hafta do some serious scrambling over the last 20 feet or so, but it's a great view of the Peak and Pike National Forest. Also a way to pad your summitpost list.
